Acorn

The Acorn was a very favorite design of mine but challenging to produce, therefore we only carried this in our line for three years. We have never sold these since their retirement. We didn’t know we had any in our archives but just found a small treasure trove of them in our warehouse. I cast the bottom from a persimmon and the top from a sea urchin. The porcelain is very thin and just the right weight for an ornament. I have a white ceramic bowl full of them in my living room.

Margaret created this star as a reminder of those evenings when, as a child, you lay on your back in the grass, anticipating the appearance of the first evening star. It was that star which always seemed the largest and the most radiant of those that followed.
