Janet Yaugo and I go back a long ways. Janet and I went to Mount St Scholastica in Atchison, KS our freshman year of college and we have been the dearest friends ever since. Janet is now my Virginia sales rep and talked me into coming to Virginia to do several signing this November. These signings were very busy and it was lovely to meet and sign for my faithful collectors; some of which had every piece I have ever made and many who had entire Christmas trees of all of my angels and ornaments. What a great opportunity for me to say “Thank you”.

In the photo Janet and I are in the back yard of the Governor’s house in Colonial Williamsburg and even though it was 14th of November it was unseasonably warm, in the high 60’s, sunny and beautiful!

I love Colonial Williamsburg and have been there two times before and each time I have been inspired by the architecture, the interiors and most of all the gardens. My first visit in 1988 was a strong influence in my own garden design. The parterres, vistas, arches and gates of Williamsburg were inspirational then and still are today! These gardens were also instrumental in confirming my passion for boxwood hedges and topiary!

The color I chose for the packaging of my new jewelry line is inspired by orange coral from the sea. I matched the color to a coral necklace that I have had for over 30 years. This necklace is wrapped around a sea urchin in one of the photo images I have included.

I used this rich coral color on the inside and bottom of the jewelry box. The white lid displays our logo on the top.

I am having so much fun designing the displays for my jewelry line. I have used the coral color from the package to paint a wooden artist’s hand to hold a necklace. These display hands are available to the stores that sell my jewelry.

The last image I included is a sea star I photographed in a tide pool at the beach last month. This solitary star was in a small depression on the Neskowin beach. It seemed to affirm my choice of color for the jewelry boxes.

Last November I did a signing at Bloomin Crazy and I enjoyed meeting many sweet customers and signing lots of angels and ornaments. The last Saturday of this month, October 29th, I’ll be there again from 1:00PM to 2:30PM. Come to the signing and bring one of your angels from home and I’ll sign that too.

Many Oregonians have been purchasing my angels for years and I will be pleased to be at Bloomin Crazy to say thank you, thank you!

I will be giving away a FREE 2” 2011 Liberty Angel to the first 10 people in line to make a purchase.
