This last August, Kathy and Jannie, my roommates from college came to spend a week with me at my beach house. It was such a sweet time; so easy going with all three of us pitching in and playing and cooking together – just like we used to do. It was as if the years had melted away and we were back in our little apartment in the Sonata in Lincoln, Nebraska for our junior year of college.
Jannie brought the picture of the three of us that I have included. It was taken on my 22nd birthday. The rest of the pictures are from our recent holiday.
Many years have passed but our friendship and love have remained the same.

Last November I did a signing at Bloomin Crazy and I enjoyed meeting many sweet customers and signing lots of angels and ornaments. The last Saturday of this month, October 29th, I’ll be there again from 1:00PM to 2:30PM. Come to the signing and bring one of your angels from home and I’ll sign that too.
Many Oregonians have been purchasing my angels for years and I will be pleased to be at Bloomin Crazy to say thank you, thank you!
I will be giving away a FREE 2” 2011 Liberty Angel to the first 10 people in line to make a purchase.
Dear Friends,
I am excited about the store signings this year! We have scheduled more events this year so I will be looking for you to come and visit me and see the new angels. If you have one angel or ornament at home, bring it to the signing and I will sign that piece for you too. I will be giving a FREE 2″ Liberty Angel to the first 10 people in line who make a purchase.
Most of these retailers are now carrying my new jewelry line. Call the retailer to find out if they have my jewelry in stock!

I just got back from Memorial Day weekend at the Oregon coast. The weather was varied—with bright spots to revel in, but cool and drizzly at times too. We kept the fireplace burning to keep it cozy inside. Sunday after a big dinner we had a great bonfire on the beach!
No matter what the weather is, there is always an opportunity to beach comb and I love to keep adding to my beach combing collections. This collection of Oregon clam and snail shells are nestled together in a large polished shell that I purchased at a wonderful shell shop in Cloverdale, Oregon. What a pleasure to decorate with the gifts from the sea!
Angel Wreath Made By Margaret Furlong
Are you getting ready to put your angels out for Christmas? A lovely way to decorate inside or outside your home is to use your angels on a wreath. With each unique angel, memories of past Christmas come together in a rich circle of holiday themes.
I like to use ribbons to match my Christmas colors, and also find beautiful natural gleanings from my garden to add to an evergreen wreath. Here I tucked stems of lavender and red berries behind and peaking out from each angel. The six 4” angels I selected are a collection of six different angel designs.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR WREATH
- Wire the angels on first. Loop a wire through the ribbon holder on the back of the 4” angel. Thread the two wire ends separately through to the back of the wreath and then tie together. Be sure this attachment is snug because the angels need to be nestled in tightly. This sets you up to add the ribbons.
- Tuck the ribbon bows behind each head – no wiring or gluing needed.
- And now finish it up with hot gluing your fresh or dried gleaning from the garden.
You will have created a wreath rich with meaning and festive materials for your holiday home.
